SENSEI LUKE SCHROOR

Sensei Luke began training in Matayoshi Kobudo in Australia in in 2001 and was graded to 1st Dan by Sensei Takehiro Gaja in 2006 with the certificate issued by the Matayoshi Kobudo honbu dojo, Kodokan.

In 2007 he moved to Germany and was encouraged by Sensei Gaja to look for and  continue training under Sensei Zenei Oshiro, head of the International Academy of Okinawan Kobudo (A.I.K.O) in Paris. Sensei Oshiro is a direct student of Shinpo Matayoshi.

He continued his training under the instruction of Shihan Hans Bäuml, head instructor of the Düsseldorf Kazukan Dojo and Chairman of the German Okinawan Kobudo Association (OKVD), which has a direct affiliation with the A.I.K.O and is under direct instruction from Sensei Oshiro. Senei Luke was graded to 2nd Dan in 2011 by Shihan Hans and in 2014 he was graded to 3rd Dan by Sensei Oshiro. On 23 September 2023, Sensei Luke was graded to 4th Dan by Sensei Zenei Oshio.

He has had the privilege of training in Okinawa on mulitple occasions at the dojo's of Sensei Takehiro Gaja, Sensei Kenichi Yamashiro and the Matayoshi Kodokan. 

Sensei Luke moved back to Australia in 2017 and continues in Okinawa Kobudo. In 2021 he started the Kazukan dojo in Canberra in 2021. 

Okinawa Kobudo Australia Kazukan dojo is a member of A.I.K.O. under Sensei Zenei Oshiro and Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate and Kobudo (AFTK).
